Enrichment Center

A Child’s Smile

Conventional enrichment programs are incapable of meeting the needs of children with special needs and, as such, those children are prevented from the opportunity of being integrated into recreational and enrichment programs and they are left without adequate activities in the afternoon.

The Jerusalem Variety enrichment center offers a unique program in Jerusalem. The center offers a wealth of enrichment activities that allow children with special needs to create, to learn and to broaden their horizons.

Little Moments of Happiness – Activities

The enrichment center operates in the afternoons and evenings and is geared for children from preschool through to junior high, who come to the Jerusalem Variety Center in organic groups from their daytime schools and healthcare facilities. The children come to the center once or twice a week. They are driven to the center from their daytime facility and are chaperoned by staff members of that facility. In the course of their stay, the children are given a hot and nutritious meal and enjoy a broad array of activities:

The activities offered by the enrichment center are run by a professional and high-quality team of instructors, and are conducted in groups of up to seven children. This mode of activity allows flexibility in the contents of the activities and to adapt them to the specific needs of the members of the group.

To Give With All One’s Heart – The Team of instructors
The instructors at the enrichment center are carefully selected. We place special emphasis on professionalism and experience, but we also ascribe equal importance to the emotional generosity of the instructors and their personal commitment to the children’s wellbeing. The instructors work in close proximity to professional experts from the Jerusalem Variety Center and the daytime facilities to which the children belong.

Our work is based on the belief that every child has unique needs, abilities and preferences and, therefore, we develop a personal program for every child that is suited to his needs and predilections.

Hundreds of children take part in the various activities offered by the enrichment center: blind and visually-impaired children, children with learning disabilities, children with light and medium-level mental retardation, children with communication impairments, emotional and behavioral problems, children at risk and children with autism.
