Camp activities for children with special needs
In the course of vacations children with special needs are left without an adequate framework because of the high costs of camp activities and the fact that they are not suited to their needs.
That is why the Jerusalem Variety Center runs, in the course of the holidays, camps for children with special needs for a token tuition fee only.
The camp activities focus on a specific theme. The theme of the summer camp this year, for instance, was around the world in 21 days. Every day the activity was dedicated to a different country.
The camps also offer the children a plethora of activities in the well-equipped activities rooms:
The camps also offer outdoor activities such as swimming, a visit to the zoo and the Israel Museum.
Some 100 children took part in our summer camp this year, including children with blindness and vision impaired, deaf and hearing impaired, children with autism and with communication impairments, children with mild to moderate mental retardation, children with learning disabilities, children from shelters for battered women and children at risk.
